How is that life can be so up and down for people? I don't understand sometimes why things happen the way they do. I have always believed that things happen for a reason, but the reason for whats going on now completely escapes me.
I'm moving. That much you know, if you've read my previous posts. Yesterday, I got approved for an apartment that I found. Rent is good. Landlord was fairly easy to work with. My first months rent will be paid on Aug 6, my deposit will be paid on Aug 20. Not bad.
Except I have no utilities.
The local electric co-op wants a $250 deposit UP FRONT. Never mind that its the freakin' middle of summer and temperatures have steadily been in the 90's here. Nope. $250 up front to turn on the electricity so I can run the fans and air conditioning.
Oh yeah, and the water company wants $75. Up front.
I haven't even talked to the gas company yet. No sense in heating that water up if I don't have any.
I've made a small list of things I can sell that might get me close to that amount, but as of yet, no buyers.
wooden cabinet with glass doors
10-speed bicycle
accoustic guitar
wireless microphones with rechargeable batteries
Sigh. Don't make me throw my gas bbq grill in there too. We may need that to cook on for a week or two.
And my first night in the new place is Thursday night.
So...how is it that I can finally move out, I have a decent place fall right into my lap with a landlord that will work with me, only to be stopped dead in my tracks by the utility companies?
As my girlfriend would tell me, it will work out. And I know it will somehow. It has to. I've come to far to be stopped now.
Suggestions and donations are happily accepted...
Here you can expect to find random thoughts, based on whatever happens to be on my mind at the moment. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, sometimes controversial, and sometimes maybe even a little sexy. Free your mind for no money down!

The Changes Keep On A Comin'
I'm moving on.
No, this isn't going to be one of 'song lyric' blogposts. I've done very few of those in my history and I have promised myself I would stay away from those unless it was absolutely necessary.
Instead though, these words pertain to another change in my life.
For the 3rd time in about a year, I'm moving. Again.
God, I hate moving. All the packing and unpacking, hauling boxes, multiple trips back and forth from the house to the car, upstairs, downstairs, multiple trips from the old residence to the new one.
Not to mention the search for housing - finding one that fits with the family, will it have enough space, will the bedrooms be big enough? utilities? neighbors? Will the pizza delivery gal object if you open the door naked? (oh wait....)
But this is a move that I kind of anticipated would be coming anyway. With public school starting up in about a month, and one child still to put through, I decided I wanted to make this move before he started so that I wouldn't have to transfer him twice.
And its also important to find a landlord that will work with us on deposits and such since its coming up so quickly.
Fortunately, I believe I have found a place already. A lot of people were willing to help me with searching through classified ads and I'm eternally grateful for that. Unfortunately, there were various little things about most places we found that made me unable to apply for those places. One such problem was deposits. Not knowing how much money I would have available to work with basically left me working blind. So I placed a classified ad on Craigslist and was contacted by someone who had a place available in the school district I needed AND is willing to split the deposit up for me.
So last week, I went to see the place and I had no real complaints. Sure, its not the best place I could find. The carpets were dirty, the bedrooms were a bit small. But the rent is right, the deposit terms were right, and all in all, its not that bad of a place. I can see myself living there.
I will turn in my application with them on Wednesday along with my application fee and we'll go from there. Wish me luck!

Beginning a New Chapter in Life
Hello again. I thought I would make a quick post to let you know about something going on in my life. It's been quite some time and I really didn't think I would be in this position ever again in my life, but I am.
And you know what? It's kind of a good feeling, although a little scary at times.
Want to know what it is? (Deep Breath)
I'm attempting to finish getting my degree.
I am 44 years old with 3 kids and a good job. Yet I never finished college. In fact, I dropped out in 1987 after taking only 3 semesters at the University of Missouri and 1 semester at St Louis Community College.
I don't know yet how many credits will transfer over, but I'm starting out by going for my Associates degree in Business. After we see how that goes, I might go my bachelors degree. Like I said, we'll see.
I've signed up for online classes with the University of Phoenix. Originally, I only submitted the request for information from them because I was trying to complete an offer through cashfiesta and earn $50 (complete 4 offers, no credit card required and they send you a check). I figured I would just fill out the form and they would send me an email and maybe I would have to click on a link.
I never expected their office to call me.
I avoided answering the calls until I saw that they weren't going away so one afternoon I went ahead and took the call. The guy on the other end was an enrollment counselor and started talking to me about why I wanted to go back to school and what I was interested in doing. I told him I was just gathering information and wasn't really sure about it, couldn't afford to at this point in time and didn't really have time to take classes somewhere.
He then proceeded to tell me about the online program and financial aid obligations (student loans & Pell grants) and how I would not have any out of pocket expenses (with the exception of getting computer and internet access, which as we all can obviously see isn't much of a problem since I'm online posting this). In fact, if for some reason the financial aid didn't go through, I wouldn't even be starting classes!
So....I took another breath and said, OK. He sent me a link to the online application and a detailed explanation of how to fill it out. I faxed him a couple of forms so that he could request my transcripts from MU and SLCC and see what credits would transfer over.
That was all on Tuesday of this week. Two days ago. Yesterday I heard back from the bank on my student loans. Everything looks good and they are working with the school now to get funds to them. Anything over and above my tuition costs will be sent to me.
I have a new student orientation workshop next week and should begin classes on July 28.
Dear God what have I gotten myself into!
Stay tuned....

Questions Answered, Installment 5 (after a bit of a delay)
Finally! It took a few days, but I'm finally able to answer your burning questions! So without further ado, here they are....
*******************************
~BJ~ Lady of the Lake asks, "Do you have a fear of clowns? If so, any particular reason?"
No, no fear of clowns, LOL. You're probably asking in reference of my headline on my Yuwie profile page. (Can't sleep…Clowns will eat me). Truth is I don't always think as quickly as I would like and when I was setting up my Yuwie profile and it asked for a favorite quote, that was the first thing that popped into my head. I think Bart said it on an episode of the Simpsons once.
Feather Plucking Cheetah asks, "Who is on your "list?" As in your list of 5 people (celebrity people, that is) who you could..um..."do" if they came knocking on your door and your wife/sig other have to let you. (as seen on an episode of Friends, years ago.) A free pass, if you will."
You know, I started thinking about this question when I saw it posted the other day. Two people come to mind right off the bat. (Hint: they are former Idol contestants!) But coming up with three more was actually a challenge. I mean, sure its easy to walk down the street or go through my friend list and say, "I'd do her, I'd do her…" To narrow it down though requires some serious thought. So, this is the list I've come up with.
1) Carrie Underwood. I mean, come on. This gal is HOT. She's got a great voice and I would love to make her make some sounds that you don't get out of her in the recording studios. She also looks a lot like one of my ex girlfriends. And yes, I've already been given permission on my end. The trick is getting Carrie to go along with the idea.
2) Kellie Pickler. Yup, definitely up there in my list. I love the personality she presents in public. She's funny and sexy as hell. And I had a sex dream about her once….damn straight she's on this list!
3) Brittany Spears. Yes, that's right. I said Brittany . Say what you want about her, but there's just something there that I find attractive. And not just her boobs, LOL! Besides, if she'll do K-Fed, certainly I've got a shot…
4) Jenna Fischer. (Pam from The Office). Uh huh….its that down to earth quality that her characters seem to portray. Don't need the supermodel hot bod to have a good time. And somewhere under that good girl exterior is a bad girl waiting to get out!
5) Ivanka Trump. Daughter of The Donald. She's cute, smart, sexy as hell…and once daddy found out about it, he'd likely want to buy me off. Yeah, I'd do her.
Cheryl asks, "What made you decide to get a MySpace account?"
Originally, I signed up so I could keep a closer eye on my kids online activities. Then I thought, I could use this thing to promote my karaoke business (I used to own my own business from the mid-90's until the end of 2006). Then I discovered the blogs and all the wonderful friendships that developed as a result. Ahhh Good times!
Soogat asks, "If something gets sucked up by a black hole, where does it go?"
I've been afraid to get close enough to my ex wife to find out.
And, Soogat also asks, "If you had a chance to travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?"
Bali is my dream location. But anywhere with clear blue waters, tropical atmosphere, nearly naked women, and a nice beach to relax on would be my destination of choice.

Glorious Days of a Mis-Spent Youth
Yesterday, I read a blog posted by one of my newest Yuwie friends, Dawn, in which she talked about an embarassing incident that took place recently involving diving into a swimming pool. I'll spare you the details but I can certainly share in her pain...
And here's why...
Back in my teenage days, I used to run around the small Missouri ozarks town of Mansfield with 2 of my cousins. One of them was pretty much always an accident waiting to happen (they used to light the fuse on a firecracker and sit and hold the thing while watching the fuse burn) and you would think that would send up a red flag with me, but...no.
Let me tell you about 3 separate incidents in my past that have probably removed a few days from my anticipated life span. I don't remember my exact age during these events, but suffice it to say that it was likely somewhere between the ages of 15 and 19.
Case number 1) Winter time. Sledding. Steep hills. Ahhh, I see a picture starting to formulate in your mind! It was night time and we had recently had a heavy snowfall and so one evening my cousins and I walked over to a hill on the east end of town. There was a long road going down this hill that was glazed over with ice and snow and looked perfect for sledding. No cars were out that night and we knew it was gonna be a great ride on our sleds. My cousin Brad went first and he rode his sled as far as it would take him. This is where we saw one slight problem in our plan. The walk back up the hill was incredibly long if we let our momentum carry us. So my cousin Garland went next and he found a snowdrift at the base of the hill that he could turn off into and stop and not have to walk back as far. Seemed like a good idea to me.
Anyway, my turn came and I took off down the hill, picking up speed fast. The ride was incredible and when I got to the drift where Garland had turned, I turned as well. However, I turned a little too sharply and rolled off the sled, laying there on my back in the snow. I thought about sitting up but something told me not yet. About a split second later, my sled came crashing down across my face, hitting me in the nose. It wasn't broken, but it hurt like hell! We decided to call it a night after that.
Case number 2) Winter time again, this time in daylight. I don't remember if it was before or after the above incident. We had been sledding in a friends back yard, down a hill that led to a small opening in a fence. On one side of the opening there was the wire fence and on the other, there was a snow covered woodpile. Well, my cousin Garland decided when I took off down the hill, he wanted to race me for the opening in the fence. We were running neck and neck and at the last minute, I cut him off and reached the opening first. Garland smashed into the woodpile.
Case number 3) Summer time at the swimming pool. I think I was 17 or 18 when this happened. We had been diving off the high dive and Garland started trying to do trick dives. He would hang off the end of the high dive, swing his body back and forth, release and turn his body into a dive while his legs were out behind his body. So of course we all had to try it.
I got up there and got into position hanging off the board. I started swinging my legs back and forth and it suddenly occured to me that if I released when he did, I stood a good chance of doing a belly flop and I didn't want to do that. So I released at the opposite point and headed for the water.
My head hit the water first. Barely. That's pretty much the only thing that went right. The next thing to hit was my legs. Just above my knees. On the concrete edge of the pool. Yeah, it hurt.
My cousins watching me said I looked like one of those cartoon characters as I slid slowly into the water. I realized how lucky I was as I came within inches of shattering my knee caps. Years later when I met up with them again and I got to introduce my sons to their kids, I issued a warning. I told my boys that if somewhere down the line these cousins tried to introduce them to new tricks and special dives that they should probably think twice about doing them and to use their best judgement. And to consider themselves warned.

Ask Me Anything!
It's time again...gotta keep this ball rolling! Time to Ask Me Anything!
I won't be around this weekend, nor will I be near a computer on Friday, so I'm starting to take questions now and I'll post my answers on Thursday.
If you are new to my site, this is the 5th week I've done this now and the questions coming in have been good ones. I invite you to ask me anything at all - serious, silly, scientific, sexual...whatever comes to mind. And I will post my answers to your questions on Thursday.
As always, if I don't know the answer - I'll make something up!

Asked and Answered!
Love will turn the Key asks, Would you ever get a tattoo? and if so, where and what?
I have been thinking of getting a tattoo for many years. The problem has been that I haven’t found one that I really like. I had thought of getting a Gemini symbol, but then I changed my mind on that one and decided that I wanted to get a Yin/Yang symbol. It would go on my back just below my left shoulder. But like I said, I haven’t been able to find one that jumps out at me. Maybe someday…
Stevie Exxxx asks three questions….
What is the highest number of women that you have you been in a relationship with at one time?
Well….I suppose first we should define “relationship”. I mean, are we talking serious dating or are we talking sexual relations? Let’s assume both, shall we?
Serious dating…
Hmmm…well, in an actual relationship, I suppose technically you could say 4. But in reality, only 3 of those women were actively involved with me. The fourth one lived several states away and we were never able to actually get together before going our separate ways.
Sexual relations…
Lets see….I would have to go way back and say that the most women I’ve had relations with at one time is 4 I think…and what a night that was! That was my first group experience (I wasn’t the only guy there though, so I did get some rest time, lol)
How many women would you have a relationship with at the same time if all the chemistry and all that were at peak????
Serious dating…
Just being with 3 was tough enough to find time for, so I don’t think I would do more than that. And that would be if all the equipment were working like it did when I was much younger! Lately though, I think I’m finding more happiness in a one-on-one setting…
Sexual relations…
Four was awesome. And if the chemistry and all that were at peak, I think maybe 3 at the most because I would hate for any of them to feel left out of the action. Sure they could pair off or take care of each other if they were into that sort of thing, but then they wouldn’t be having relations with me at the same time.
What attracts you into a new relationship with another woman???
Her attitude. The way she looks at me. The way she talks to me. The way she carries herself. I’m not someone hung up on looks to attract my attention, although she should probably maintain some level of cleanliness. Give me a look of desire, don’t be afraid to touch me. Kiss me like you mean it. And you’ll have my attention.
Heavensent54 asks, When did you KNOW you wanted to write? (to be a writer)
I wrote my very first short story back in 3rd grade I think. In 8th grade, I began working on my school newspaper and I think that’s really when it started, but no real aspirations or dreams of being a famous author. But in high school – 1981, in fact, I developed the outline for a book that is still a work in progress. It was 12 years later that I actually started putting the words down on paper. All minor events in my personal history. I mean, I’ve always enjoyed writing (I’ve been told I have a great imagination!) But it was actually a very short time ago, after I published my first book, that when I stepped back and looked at the finished product, I just really felt good about the accomplishment and I knew I wanted to do it again.
My daughter is currently helping me put the finishing touches on my 27-year work in progress and I hope to have it released by this fall – it’s a murder mystery and I’m real anxious to get this one finished! My third book is a collection of more erotic works and I hope to have it out by November.

Ask Me Anything...Installment 4!
I know, I know...It's Wednesday...Hump Day...not Thursday! But this Friday I don't plan on being anywhere near an internet access point (4th of July holiday, you know...). So we'll be playing Ask Me Anything a little earlier this week!
If you're not familiar with this game, this is your chance to ask me anything you like. Anything at all - personal, scientific, sexual, or just plain crazy. I don't care what it is - and I will do my best to answer it. I don't claim to be some big fancy know-it-all and if I don't know the answer you can bet I will make something up.
So put your thinking caps on and ask me anything!
