Is MySpace afraid of a little competition?
Today, I decided to sign up with Yuwie. I've been hearing about it quite a bit lately and decided to see what it was all about. I liked what I saw and dove in head first.
If you haven't heard yet, Yuwie is the social network that pays you for basically doing what you would be doing on MySpace or Facebook or any of those other social networks. (click the link over in the column on the left if you're interested)
Of course, to succeed in Yuwie, you need referrals. Makes sense, since the whole thing is geared to get more people involved so they can make more money with their advertisers. So I did a blog over there today and put in both an image link and a URL link. And wouldn't you know...MySpace blocked them both. If someone clicks on them, they get taken to a screen full of scare tactics - Warning!! Spam!! You've been phished!! Virus Alert!! (I kid you not...) So of course, they'll do all they can to prevent people from going to this site.
So I advised people to just copy and paste the URL into the address bar of their browser window if they wanted to know more and all would be fine. The URL is: http://r.yuwie.com/scottseviltwin/ There is a great video file at Yuwie that explains the whole process.
Oh, and in case you were wondering...the banner link works just fine here at blogspot.
